Luke 11: 9&10
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be
given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who
seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
Many times when Jesus speaks there is a
lot behind the few words He speaks. At this point and time
in Luke 11, Jesus is ministering on the importance of
Persistence in our prayer life (verses 5-8). Jesus simple
tells us that our boldness should bring persistence to our
prayer life. This helps us understand why Hebrews 4:16
tells us to come to the throne of grace boldly! Also
Hebrews 11:6 tells us that God is a rewarder of those who
diligently SEEK Him. Understand that Jesus Himself even
displays persistence in His teachings, why would He not
teach persistence to us. Persistence requires an action on
our behalf in order to get the results that we desire. We
have A(ask).S(seek).K(knock). for what we want and need. In
Luke 11: 9&10 Jesus gives us instructions on how to get our
prayers answered: JUST A.S.K. In order to get our needs
met, we have to take humble ourselves and just simply Ask
God for it, and we will receive it/ Now lets not get ahead
of ourselves; whatever you Ask should be spiritually
beneficial. When you have Asked for something and you
haven’t seen it yet doesn’t mean that’s its not there,
sometimes it is a matter of you Seeking God to find it. You
must SEEK ye first the kingdom of God in order for all
things to be added unto you.

Notice that in order to receive
something we must take some sort of action. Sometimes we
think just because a door has been closed in our face that
we should give up, but the bible tells you to Knock and it
will be opened for you.
Now I ask you: What is it that you
need/want? What is it that you have already asked for, and
you still haven’t seen it? Where in your life to you feel
that all the doors have been shut in your face?
Today I encourage you to take your answers to those
questions and A.S.K. God for them. Ask God for what you
want, Seek God for what you have asked for, and knock at the
doors of opportunity that God has given you. Realize that
this is a PROMISE, not a Possibility!
